Master Malcolm Edwards was born in St. Thomas, Jamaica. He then moved to Canada in 1973 where Master Edwards was raised in Winnipeg’s North End Community. He started teaching Tae Kwon Do in 1984 as he started the 1st Martial Arts Program for the City of Winnipeg Parks & Recreation where his love for coaching and mentoring athletes started to grow. He started teaching students at BAE’S Martial Arts in 1985 ultimately leading to his ownership of BAE’S Martial Arts in 2006. Master Edwards is internationally recognized in training, competing, and judging Martial Arts tournaments all over the world. Master Edwards has an impressive list of awards and accomplishments; some of which are:

  • 1981 – Awarded Black Belt
  • 1982 – Winner – Western Canadian All-Black Belt Championship
  • 1982 – Manitoba Tae Kwon Do Champion
  • Inducted into the World Martial Arts Hall of Fame
  • Inducted into the NASKA North American Karate Association Diamond National Hall of Fame
  • 1983/1984 – Gold – North America Championships
  • 1984 – Started the 1st Martial Arts Program for the City of Winnipeg Park & Recreation
  • 1983 – 1985 – Won every Martial Arts Championship in Manitoba
  • 1987 – Central Canadian Sparring & Weapons Champion
  • 1992 – Inducted into the International Elite Hall of Fame
